Don't believe the hype

Pros

Some really great people, great opportunities for peer-to-peer collaboration. Good benefits, one of the few that offers full tuition reimbursement and a pension.

Cons

Unstable, high turnover. Their multitude of open positions don't come from growth but rather from people being summarily fired for rubbing someone in management the wrong way. Take a look at the publicly available financial information and you'll see the company hasn't experienced growth for a long time. They talk about the fabulous culture in words only but don't act it.

Pros

U.S.Cellular is a good company to work for. On the retail level the pay is good, if you are in a high traffic location you could make anywhere from $40,000-$50,000yr+ as a Consultant.

Cons

If you have a family or enjoy a healthy work life balance becoming a frontline associate at the retail level may not be for you. Also since I started here developing talant from within the company has slowed and leaders are not provided enough tools to do so.

Pros

Excellent benefits package for both FT and PT associates including matching 401k. Paid time off for both PT and FT as well. Everyone is well respected, and your opinion is appreciated. I have never been in a company that wants to hear from all of their employees like U.S. Cellular does.

Cons

It still is a retail position. Hours can be straining especially working weekends and nights. Commission has been changed multiple times, and overall not for the better. Extra work continues to be added to sales peoples "to do" lists that there just isn't time for.
