Pros

I found a much better job elsewhere

Cons

Unrealistic standards by the company and high school acting middle managers. Promised to be off the night shift in three months... little did I know that they would drive me off by their actions. I left for a better opportunity and have doubled my salary and have been promoted twice at another employer in four years.

Pros

-High end salary for work and industry. -Great Benefits. -Good job right out of college. -Practical experience in management and coordinating with others. -Lots of opportunity to develop problem solving skills, and build relationships with some good people -Your level of interest and input will be a key factor for your success, have to stand out on your own. -Lots of overtime (If you want the extra money). -If you like the style in which they run the business, you will do well. -Programs designed to develop management skills and techniques, along with communication skills. -End of year bonuses and profit sharing program.

Cons

-Rigid business approach - Privately/Family owned company, but is very large. -All decisions flow downward, but are not very receptive to ideas or suggestions sent upward. -Very slow to adapt, as they are old fashioned. Was just starting the 5 year plan to implement a warehouse ERP when I left. Since everything is mostly done with pen and paper, training employees takes time, and then some tend to just quit, which is wasted time and energy. -As a business, they boomed with success, however did not plan 5-10 years ahead, and the increase in business put strain on their employees. While their success if impressive, it comes at the cost of the employees well-being, as they are forced to keep up with demand. The company does not hire fast or well. -Lots of overtime (If you hate staying late). -Unrealistic hours for warehouse employees, start roughly 10 AM and finish anywhere from 7 -10PM. -No way of knowing how long your day will be, so from Monday to Friday you cannot make plans (You leave when all the work is done). -If you do not like taking on unexpected challenges, than this would not work for you, as each day you have to think on you feet and fix many problems as they arise. -If you disagree with the way they run the company, you will struggle. -The work environment can be very stressful due to some infrastructure flaws, and there is little work life balance.
