Pros

The discount is decent, but its not worth it because of everything esle the employees have to go through. The health benefits are ok for managers.

Cons

The customer service is terrible and I am completely embarrassed to work for this company. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? There is no communication among managers, and all managers just do what they want. The associates get treated poorly by management and customers and they dont get paid enough to deal with all of that. The company does thank its employees, but District Managers and General Managers do not know how to thank their employees. I completely regret taking this job, and I am hoping to find a new one soon.

Pros

Ulta offers a decently fast paced environment to work in. They keep up with what is "hot" and make sure the employees have the appropriate training on these products. There are in-store contests used to motivate employees. One great thing about working at Ulta is definitely the gratis! They are normally very flexible with your schedule.

Cons

Ulta can be a bit chaotic at times. The managers are all on different pages. The hours are low - they have several employees working under 10 hours a week. The pay is inconsistent among stores (more than it should be considering store volume). They expect you to be everywhere at once ("get this 2 hour task done while guest servicing"). Ulta uses intimidation methods rather than plain reinforcement. It is always "do this... or else."
