Pros

Work life balance, great pay, continuing education, tuition reimbursement, medical, dental, optical, 401k, they have a great training program. There is always room for advancement with this company. They promote from within.

Cons

Overtime not offered, must be willing to work nights and weekend shifts, must take a non paid lunch break. Other than that it's a great company to be a part of. They do care about their employees.

NO RESPECT FOR THE HARD WORKING PEOPLE

Pros

The company itself is great, good benefits, decent pay, nice sales

Cons

It seems the harder you work, the more you get abused. HR does not listen to complaints nor does it protect the employees from abuse or discrimination. They don't follow any of their policies unless you break one. then you will be written up. They will even terminate at will and say you violated a policy that doesn't exist !!!! The DM is even worse.

Pros

25% off of makeup and skin care. Gratis.

Cons

Very high turn over rate at the store I was at. I should have taken that as a sign early on. Whenever I asked questions the managers always made me feel like I was annoying them. They weren't very encouraging. Very strict policies. They have a 3 strike and you're out policy for calling in. If you call in 3 days in 6 months you get fired. Even if you live 45 miles away and can't make it because of a bad snow storm. They expect you to be there unless the interstate is closed. No one should have to risk their lives for a job. That is just silly. At the store I worked at the managers were very fake and seemed nice but they gossiped a lot about other employees in a negative way. They have an EXTREMLY strict no phones on the floor policy. I only ever took my phone out in the break room but they saw it come out of my pocket and I was scolded because that meant I was carrying it around on the sales floor. I've never worked a job where you got in trouble for taking your phone out of your pocket on break. I've been treated like the responsible adult that I am at my other two jobs and they don't care if we have our phones on us so long as we go to the back or break room to check them. So that policy was just bizarre to me and how strict they were. When they told me I could get fired that's when I left. The turn over rate was very high at the store I was at as well. I think it was because of the managers there. I doubt ALL Ulta's are like this. The one I worked at I did not have a good experience with though.
