Pros

Free salon care, 25% store wide discount. Nice people that you work with. Lots of free stuff.

Cons

Not enough clients to keep you busy. So mngmnt. Sends you out to swoop on customers to find clients. Essentially they've got you running your own business with management micro managing every breath you take. It's very nerve racking & definitely not worth what they pay for all the janitorial work you do during the down times.

Pros

ahhhh yep I got nothin' in this category....I never got gratis, didn't want the rookie hairstylist working on my hair (high turnover) and no respect for my licensure

Cons

I lasted two weeks after the initial Dermalogica manadatory training and on boarding (omg mindwashing drivel) theives stealing from the salon register so services from the estheticians were paid at the front register and NO TIPS were given....I was also forcused to contact the HR department at the Headquarters because they refuse to give me a paycheck when I went to pick it up...............STAY AWAY unless you like to do retail. Not for estheticians with any experience, LOAD music and tiny pods for esthetics services, 5 years experience and I was paid $9 an hour really ;-0

Pros

Talking about beauty products with customers and coworkers is fun! The discount is nice and gratis is an added bonus. If your management team is good (and likes you), they'll try to move you up in a reasonable amount of time.

Cons

-The dress code is kind of absurd for the setting (because shoulders and colored shoes are "unprofessional"?) -Scheduling you past midnight and then early the next morning is apparently a thing that managers can get away with. -It's nearly impossible to get requested time off. -Management can be unfriendly and impatient with training. You'll likely be thrown into a situation and expected to know how to handle it without any help, and face their disappointment if you can't perform. -Because employees aren't treated well, the turnover rate is extremely high. Associates regularly call in sick or just don't show up, but who could blame them? Management acts like they're disposable. -There's a lot of pressure to do the jobs of multiple people and it's impossible to do it accurately. -My store was consistently understaffed because of this (and a couple of particularly bad eggs in management) so I rarely had the opportunity to perform the tasks in my job title because I had to cashier all day, almost everyday.
