Pros
The pay is good, Some days I feel as though it is the perfect job, but they are too few to justify staying.
Cons
It is consistently short staffed. Managers have a hard time feeling upbeat due to huge work loads and a consistent feeling of not completing tasks. The greed of the Company as a whole, and their goal of adding 100 stores a year, force us to cut hours. Their mantra of saying we are a low pressure, high customer service is riding on the backs of (at times) 2 people on the floor. Shrink and waste from returns is insane! Talk about a huge "footprint" on the planet. Corporate customer service will consistently make the hands-on worker look bad as they apologize for the "bad service " and then give the guest the green light for the return or discount etc..., though we are simply following the protocols laid out in the guide books. They want you to bring down shrink yet we are only allowed to follow around thieves with a smile on our face as they (knowing the rules of engagement and knowing we only have a handful of employees) run you ragged from isle to isle for what can be an hour or longer. This leaves other guests wondering why they are not getting the same "personal shopper" experience, who will then write a review that slams workers personally I.E.- "the fat one didn't even help me" or the "old one who wears too much make up" I've seen my employees in tears over these bullying comments. It's corporate, micromanaged to the point of exhaustion.
