Pros

Very upbeat, positive atmosphere with wonderful coworkers who have become like family to me. Anytime I have ever had questions or needed help, someone has always been very eager to help me. They allow you to be yourself, have fun and genuinely have the students best interest at heart and help them change their life! I truly believe in what we are doing and the process. I have been extremely happy with my DOA and my team, but UMA as a whole, also strives really hard to keep the employees happy with a lot of fun creative activities while recognizing us and what we do here! I have loved every minute of my experience here at UMA!

Cons

I am excited to see more programs offered to our online students and growth in the admissions department.

Thanks for the great feedback. There is nothing like working for a company that has a great atmosphere and it is great to hear that you find that at UMA. We are happy to have you as part of our family and that you support our student first mission. Our energy and passion is definitely a reflection of yours - and your dedication to supporting our community of learners is impressive. Thanks for being you and helping make UMA great!

Pros

The hourly salary is better than most

Cons

The corporate culture of intense competition lends itself to unethical behavior, eg. stealing leads, changing applications, granting favors to certain employees, while depriving others of success, guidance, and the tools needed to "hit budget". Most advisors are in daily fear that they will lose their jobs on a consistent basis, while others are recognized for achievements that they did not earn.

Very sales heavy

Pros

Good company goals overall, good growth opportunities

Cons

The pay for the role, I had to take a significant pay cut leaving a very similar role at another school. It’s also very sales focused. You get a book of students that you cannot lose or you get “out of budget” they hound you to push students to take out loans to protect your “book” -which feels weird and counter productive. I hate pushing students financially when I’m not allowed to even speak on finance, but their metrics makes it impact ME if my students can’t afford it. It’s an odd concept.
