Pros

Great health benefits overall. Awesome coworkers.

Cons

Management is horrible! The job itself is extremely predatory towards prospective students. You have to persuade students to enroll into a certification or AA degree program for healthcare. The tuition cost for these programs ranges from $18,000 to $30,000 which is absurd. Typical community college cost is under $10,000. Most of the degrees are useless in workforce, imagine spending 18 months in “school” then receive career placement in a call center like Alorica. Management is unrealistic and out of touch. If you have one bad day, they will make you feel like you’re the worst employee ever.

Pros

They pay is up to par and the work "environment" is energetic.

Cons

Even though it is suppose to be a school that provides education, it seems to care less about the student needs, and more about "numbers" and out-doing the next team. Some people that have been contacted are clearly not at an educational level and are not financially stable to take on such a commitment. The great majority of transfers are from people that thought they were applying for employment. Then once they realize that they have been contacted to be forced into enrolling in a school, they are justifiably upset and frustrated. The admission representatives are fully aware that these people are being forced into a position that's not beneficial for them, however, we are made to "sale" and make those numbers despite the valid concerns of the prospect. I'd you fail to meet those expectations, you are guaranteed to be fired. I did not feel comfortable having to force someone's hand into a long-term commitment that I knew was not beneficial for them. Not just to increase sales or even to keep my job. My integrity and my ability to sleep at night with a clear conscious was much more important.

All students who enroll at UMA must meet eligibility requirements, and by no means is anyone ever forced to enroll. Also, anyone who reaches our Admissions team has expressed interest in going to school. As an accredited educational institution, UMA upholds standards that are consistent with requirements from our institutional accreditor to ensure students are qualified when they enroll. In addition, during the Admissions process, our representatives are trained to take great care to make sure students understand the time and technology required to attend UMA, the full cost of their program and their options for managing work and family obligations in conjunction with school. Our mission is to equip and empower students to excel in healthcare careers. That starts by ensuring students are informed and ready to enroll during the Admissions process. If they choose to enroll at UMA, our Learner Services and Education teams support them through their academic journey, and our Career Services team works closely with healthcare employers to help match our graduates to open positions in their locations and fields of study. We would like to better understand your experience and comments. Could you please contact us at UMACares@ultimatemedical.edu?

Pros

-Great pay -Excellent Benefits -Recognition for hard work -Freedom to work your territory the way you think it should be run. -Excellent breaks and breakroom. -Steady schedule -Earned overtime.

Cons

-A strange way they micro-manage certain hours of your day even though it is not rational. -Poor communication between departments. -Leadership met with the team three times a day to berate "us" on how we were falling behind. -EXTREME competitiveness. -Co-workers are always trying to sell you on their side business. -Management does not place you where your skills are best until you prove you are the best in your department even if your department is sinking. -Leadership says they have an open door but they will never meet with you about anything. -Training leaders *can* be very abusive. -Every person is like a used car salesman - unapologetically. -Compliance is a joke. You will get written up on something that your training manager told you to do. -You cannot express yourself when it comes to any kind of faith even if your client does. You will be written up. -Goals are IMPOSSIBLE (literally) to me. They want you to make 100 calls to a territory when there are several other people calling your area. There are not enough businesses to call and you end up calling the same businesses multiple times a week just to keep your job. Those businesses get angry you call them so much and they ask to be on the do not call list. YOU get written up for this. They do not follow their own values.
