Pros

My co-workers were wonderful people. Umbra does a great job of tracking down creative, energetic, talented employees. They also host a number of social events where you have the opportunity to spend time with other employees, especially people you don't ordinarily work closely with.

Cons

The down side is they never take the time to see the potential of their own employees. I knew colleagues who had worked there for 2+ years without even a raise in salary! They never promote from within and don't like the idea of change.

Pros

You'll work with a handful of fantastic people who are doing the best they can under absurdly juvenile management. Wholesale discount on product. A subsidized lunch and (sometimes) breakfast program but keep in mind there's nowhere else to go out here.

Cons

Senior Executive team is neither focused or truly in touch with the marketplace or the design world. Decisions made over the past 6-7 years have created a horrible environment for people to work in, any innovation that was once here has been replaced by complacency and a cynicism towards design. They are rich though so probably do not care enough to change. Long overtime hours unpaid and without much if any appreciation (I honestly just don't think they notice). Terrible management and greed driven choices by the sales teams leads to these things being standard around here. HR teams have been fired, quit, outsourced and run by finance in my time here. The problem is not with them (hint hint). There are so many more.
