Pros

Railroad retirement pension, pay, and family health plan. Some union benefits including 40 hr work week, paid holidays, and overtime pay.

Cons

Constantly looking over your shoulder. Fellow employees looking to get ahead by gossiping and management that prides itself on disciplining employees. 90% of employees feel stuck there because of retirement, pay, and benefits, but would like to work anywhere but there.

Pros

The pay is great for the work you do

Cons

Your away from home a lot so it sucks if you have smaller children. Management is terrible. Their whole goal is to fire you which takes food out of your family mouth.

Pros

The money is good and opportunities are plentiful. One can advance very fast and if you don't like one department, it's easy to move on to another.

Cons

If you work in operations, you'll have no time to live life. Might as well let go of all hobbies because you won't engage in them anymore, unless your favorites thing to do is railroad. Facebook is the only way you'll every see friends and family.
