Pros

Sadly none. UP used to be a great place to work but that is not the case anymore.

Cons

Upper management focus on the operating ratio has taken priority over everything. Service, safety, and employee morale are no longer a focus.

Pros

Health insurance for a family was good considering the shift in healthcare. Looks good on a resume to have worked for such a huge organization. Tuition reimbursement is a plus

Cons

No opportunity for growth as they flatten the organization. Culture and Moral and terrible given all the recent layoffs. People and processes make a business successful, however, the focus has changed on doing whatever necessary to benefit shareholders instead. As a result, people are overworked and burnt out and the team mentality is gone. Disappointing how much it changed when the new CEO took over, railroaders use to be a family, but now everyone is out for themselves.
