Pros

Compensation is remarkable and reliable

Cons

Trying to keep from being fired on a daily basis is stressful Especially once you become acclimated to salary @100% You are a slave to your paycheck which allows mgmt. To treat you like dirt at their whim. They must collect scalps to keep their job and to be considered for promotion

Pros

Under the previous CEO’s the company felt like a family driven towards a goal of building America. The retirement benefits are good but who knows if those will last.

Cons

Now all we care about is operating ratio(Gutting to 55) and how our stock performs. They also hold on to bad talent for way too long. Even when they go though reduction in force they will let good talented people go and still hold on to low performers. Avoid company until leadership changes.

Pros

Opportunity to learn transportation business from railroad perspective, a 150 yr-old company. established, market leader. structured, almost military like. both union and non-union. very dedicated and competent staff.

Cons

two recent staff reductions (2015, 2017) leave less people to do an increasing workload, especially in I.T. The company wants to do more with less.
