Pros

Great Compensation, Benefits, Pension, opportunity for advancement for the “right” people

Cons

Always On Call or working unless you have very high seniority, no time to spend with family or kids, management is always testing on safety rules and will write you up for any small infraction just to hit their failure goals but they will turn a blind eye when they need something done, union representation was a joke, Union always sides with company and union dues keep increasing, company always complains they over pay us on everything during contract negotiations and benefits have been diminishing little by little. Management will harass and treat you like a child. A secure job is not guaranteed as furloughs were very common .
