Mature leadership driving real scaling challenges
Pros
The company has a very mature culture: the products have real and ubiquitous use cases. The market is expanding. The leadership supports and encourages changes and innovation. There’s no stagnation of thinking or executing. If you’re a software engineer, you can find services written in Java as well as written in GO. Applications are containerized. Kafka is used everywhere. The overall stack is fresh and modern (but not all of it!). Mental health and burnouts are taken very seriously. While the timezone distribution is not the easiest (most of folks in US and India), the company is really trying to keep a relaxed, easy and stress-free environment. The first Friday of every month is a day off for everyone. Unlimited PTO and great benefits allows to compensate for early morning/late evening calls. People are collaborative and support each other. There’s a general friendly feeling in every interaction and intersection. The team is truly diverse (way more than the average Bay Area company) and inclusion is a real and visible value.
Cons
Teams are distributed mostly between US and India. The interactions between timezones is not the easiest if you are not a morning person. If you’re coming from a stereotypical startup experience (Gmail, Slack, Zoom, GitHub…), expect a mix between a big enterprise and mid-size company feeling (Microsoft365, GitLab, Confluence…).
