Pros

401K and medical benefits, Unlimited monthly metrocard, tuition remission at a local Bronx College

Cons

Unorganized organization, administration, ghetto employees. Challenging clients (Developmental Disabled, Mentally Challenged, Physically Challenged) This is a stressful and demanding job that pays a salary of $35,000K a year in Greater NYC. They want you to do too much I.S.P. and lift the clients out of their wheelchair. The Job description of a MSC is not a physical job , but it is very stressful and demanding with the governing agency OPWDD , the other agencies, and your coworkers are quick to call The Department of Justice on you for neglect. There will always be a investigation if you work in this field. Stay away from U.P.S.

Pros

Great Teamwork, staff and management are truly vested and committed in the work they do in serving the individuals.

Cons

There have been little raises for staff for years. Lobbying OPWDD for more money and higher wages for direct support professionals.

Pros

It was a learning experience, and I enjoyed helping the people that were clients. I also learned a lot of things that I didn't know.

Cons

I believe I was not given enough time to get the most of the experience of the job. I wish I could have been in the field I was more familiar with such as data entry.
