Pros

Not too many good reasons to work at this company other than as an entry level technician. Depending on your manager you may or may not have access to training and certifications; those are probably the best things you can do to advance your personal knowledge and resume.

Cons

Extremely low pay, very little employee recognition and raises are practically non-exsistant. No reward for being a top level performer. Many managers have to shuffle people around to fill vacant spots that upper management will not let them hire people to fill. Server level CIR's being wasted on Dell next business day calls is not a valid way to fill in when you are low on technicians.

Pros

Has proven to be a stable company to work for and compensation is competitive, but negotiation upfront is key.

Cons

Senior leadership unable to turn company around. Company and stock are stagnant (or declining). Overall strategy not strong, and constantly changing. This seems to keep Unisys from realizing its potential.

Pros

We train extensively through Unisys University where staff can take an unbelievable amount of excellent courses for development. Many of these courses are available online. Unisys is a very professional company and I felt that I was respected. . My co-workers are excellent and the culture is very positive and team-oriented. Unisys has very flexible hours and the benefits are standard for an IT company. We are a global company and have an office in just about every major city.

Cons

Work/Life Balance: Unisys encourages their employees to work from home and most employees are expected to be available 24x7 via cell phone or email. Career Potential: I think the management team is willingness to promote competence, leadership and drive, but career development will depend on your role, experience and education. Pay: Raises are extremely poor or non-existent even for top performers because management is constantly looking at reducing costs…such as wages. Job Security: Many jobs have been outsourced to India. Unisys is constantly reorganizing and there have been many lay-offs over the last 10 years.
