Pros

There were none that I could see. Training was decent but was lacking in some areas.

Cons

Where to start ? Very low pay, expensive sub standard benefits. High turnover, and minimal investment in employees due to high turnover. Extremely unprofessional co workers. Dressed like they are on the couch at home or going to the club after.... Disinterested supervisors and management. No empathy towards customer, shady marketing practices. Majority of customers are uneducated and are given wrong types of policies on purpose. Revolving door of customers as well as employees. They focus in both areas on VOLUME and not Quality. Do not waste your time working here. There are other way better companies to work for. Keep in mind they also go by Torchmark Corp , which is United American, and a few other insurance companies all owned by the same terrible management. Low starting pay yet you get to walk by the CEO's Bentley in the parking lot on the way in....

Comfortable Environment, Lacks Diversity in Management

Pros

United American is a company you can fall in love with. Your coworkers provide a supportive environment, are professional and committed.

Cons

The company lacks diversity in middle and upper management. There are a "few" minorities, but the numbers are severely depressed. Many minorities don't see a path to achieving vertical growth and often those opportunities seem to prefer external candidates as opposed to internal candidates.
