Pros

Only pro is work from home flexibility which is being threatened by a new HR team who is out of touch with the industry and reality.

Cons

Overworked, underpaid and recent directives by upper management clearly show workers are not valued. Get the experience you need and get a better job elsewhere. Would not buy a used car from the CEO.

Stay as FAR away from UBC as you can

Pros

The only PROs were most of the team members were professional and supportive. The pay was pretty good as well as the annual bonus. Pretzel day was a bonus.

Cons

I worked for UBC for over 10 years and dedicated many more hours to the clients and UBC than I should have. I believed in doing my best each day to satisfy our clients. The Executive Management team did not care. They are all part of the "Other CRO" club. If you did not work with them back in the day, you will get no where at UBC. A major cost cutting measure was 2 rounds of layoffs, where even the long tenured and dedicated employees got the ax. Within the 8 months after the latest round of layoffs, the best and most experienced employees starting jumping ship. Senior management will not tell the employees anything about how the company is doing. Everything is a secret. Unless you are right out of college and want to get some experience and then move on, stay away from UBC.

Pros

Coworkers made it tolerable. The pay was decent, but that was due to the bonuses from their client that we worked for not from Ubc. The schedule was flexible depending on your team or manager.

Cons

Management was for the most part not engaged and gave a lot of unclear direction. The company as a whole made a lot of decisions that negatively impacted many staff members with little explanation. Beware if you ever need to talk to Human Resources. They have hired a Human Resources person in office who will tell you to call ADP who they outsource to. ADP will give you the runaround that they were never provided Ubc’s handbook since splitting from express scripts in 2018 and you will have a very hard time getting any answers. PTO was the first benefit dropped at the end of the year not allowing everyone to use everything they had accrues or to only allow a small portion to roll causing many to forfeit time they earned. Then the large layoffs came. Do your homework before joining this company.
