Pros

Free pretzel Tuesdays, the team I work with

Cons

Very stressful, lack of cooperation and response from internal team members including Senior Management, only employees who worked together at another CRO with the president move up the ladder and are able to ride the wave without putting in much effort

Pros

Comfortable office environment, adequate salary, par medical benefits, employees are nice and collaborative.

Cons

Weak leadership, stemming from the CEO. No vision for the future of the organization or willing to take initiative to engage employees at all levels to make improvements. CEO will make an argument for every decision, no matter how big or small. Unstable business process and operating structure, everyday is a new fire drill, with no prioritization or consideration for the folks actually doing the work. UBC was once a Fortune 50 company under ESI, now they are struggling to create an identity of who they are and the value they can bring to the industry. The ongoing concern many employees have relate to the longevity the "corporation" and when a larger player in the market will purchase UBC.

Pros

Free electronic screen wipes and coffee in the break room. Work from home 2x week but not a Friday with a following Monday (strictly). That’s the best that can be said about UBC.

Cons

Too many to mention. A couple of examples... - you reserve a conference room for a client call only to find that a VP or the Pres. has stolen your room without telling you, so you need to find a new space at the last minute. You and your team are late for the client call. Frequent occurrence, not just once in a while. - your contract requires a technology implementation. Your management signs the agreement knowing there are not enough IT resources to implement said project. Client is dissatisfied because their implementation is delayed. Finance and sr. Management is unhappy because revenue is delayed since you couldn’t bill the client for the project on time. Everyone is extremely overworked and stressed. Overall, a very unpleasant place to work. AVOID UBC unless you are desperate for some temporary income.
