Pros

Depending on the area, working at United Rentals can be very fast paced and profitable. If you are in an area with a growing economy, there will always be people and companies needing equipment for construction. You are able to get experience in a wide area of fields, including purchasing, inventory management, and logistics.

Cons

United Rentals seems strangely averse to investing in decent technology. Proprietary application used for 100% of work activities is deeply powerful, but cumbersome, out of date, and poorly maintained. Inside Sales Reps have access to a quarterly bonus program, but have relatively limited ability to actually affect payout as total amount is tied to both overall location performance as well as district performance.
