Pros

- Big name - Conservative Company - Government contractor so there are minority, diversity, education level quota to adhere to

Cons

- You are just a headcount - Unless you know how to play politics, forget it; you won't get anything done, you won't get noticed, you won't move up - You'll do things that don't add any value to shareholders or world; you'll do this so management can show bar charts going upwards to get bonuses

Generous Employee Scholar Program including paid time off for school, promotion from within, large variety of functions, access to many different training courses (both technical and soft skills), direct management supportive

Cons

Cost of living for the area, many areas understaffed, most employees work 45-50 hour work weeks, union presence is very strong against salaried positions

UTC has an extensive standard work approach. IF you want to learn tools you've not yet mastered, this could be the place.

Cons

Politics are intense; if you are not connected, you don't exist. Good work, per-se is not recognized as much as who you know.
