Pros

UTC is a old fashion company that is conservatively managed. The company has very good cash flow and stable over decades. It is not affected so much by the down turn. It also has very good employee education program that pays a decent amount of tuition.

Cons

Somewhat lack opportunities for young employees. Politics is real. Pay is not good for some professionals because UTC pay standard may be benchmarked against mechanical engineers, which do not get paid most.

Pros

UTC has a great long term benefits program and its wide range of products and services provides a stable career if you are willing to relocate.

Cons

Publicly traded company is always looking for more to meet Wall Street Expectations. However, when you provide more, the top performers are not properly rewarded or provided with career development opportunities. It may be you are just a "number" when it comes to compensation. Management is competent and stock will do well, but it you are the top of your trade, you may do better with a competitor company or another industry.

United technologies pays for school which is a very good benefit that they have. They also give many opportunities for advancement.

Cons

Many managers manage the place like if it was a mom or dads shop and not a corporation. very bad in some cases
