Pros

What I appreciate about our affiliate is there is room to innovate and try new things, staff and volunteer leadership work hard to create a positive atmosphere, and the hours are flexible for those employees that are hitting benchmarks.

Cons

Budget, budget, budget. We raise millions every year but our entire development and marketing budget is less than 5% of that. That makes it difficult to educate the community and increase our visibility. Additionally, the efforts of our fundraising team and program staff are not aligned fully. We also lack a system that adequately holds underperforming staff accountable.

Pros

Great place to work. Great work life balance. They really care about family. And they are a "work family" such a great environment to be in every day. Very flexible!

Cons

Working at United Way you have to care about the job! NOT the money. Obviously it's non profit so you can't expect a amazing salary. But they are fair.

Pros

Largest privately held Non- Profit Local United Ways help other non-profit agencies in their community with funding programs and link volunteer opportunities with corporate businesses.

Cons

Company Culture is terrible. Very little teamwork among departments. No trust in upper management. Very 9-1 top down culture. Leadership mentality is "Do as I say, not as I do". Very old school and condescending environment. Employee morale is low, lack of trust throughout organization.
