Horrible Exec Leadership - Only care about their vanity

Pros

Somewhat helps the community prosper. (They take a massive portion for themselves).

Cons

Rebecca and Jennifer are running UW Dallas into the ground. So many tenured employees jumping ship over last few months since Rebecca took over as CFO. No budget for anything while Jennifer Sampson makes millions. The exec team is in this for the vanity, not to help the community. Not a very diverse office at all. Doesn't pay OT when legally required to. If you aren't part of the Karen cut clan, you're a minion.

Bias Against Disabled Employees

Pros

The Community Impact team truly works hard to make positive change in KC and surrounding area.

Cons

Current leadership had a huge disconnect with employees. They promote and support employees they’re friends with but leave others hanging. If you are having health or personal issues, they’ll make no effort to assist you and find accommodations. They offer appealing benefits and celebrations to keep employees happy enough to stay. At the end of the day, it’s not the inclusive and generous culture it appears to be at first.

Corporate in non-profit clothing

Pros

Not much to say. I believe some in leadership actually want what's best for their coworkers.

Cons

United Way Bay Area is a performative non-profit org, more focused on fundraising money to pocket than actually helping black/brown communities. Many VPs and C-suite employees would never find themselves actually showing up in the community and haven't been in the field for years (or ever), but claims that UWBA is a show-stopper in social services. Partnering with unethical companies, like Valero, Wells Fargo, Waymo, Chevron - the list goes on. I am purely disgusted with United Way's devotion to paint themselves as a progressive non-profit work when they are never in actual conversation. UWBA has gone broke and are considering laying off loyal employees. Shame on them.
