Pros

This work allows for you to engage in community work and meet people on their level. You learn a lot about managing and reviewing grants, along with understanding the need of community organizations.

Cons

It's a struggling non-profit and will go as far as leadership within the community supports it. Its been some leadership change within the organization, but now it's stable and should grow. Small office, not much growth.

Pros

Centrally located. A non profit with a corporate aire. Extremely committed to the UW mission. Diverse employment pool and a progressive & approachable CEO.

Cons

Has lost its influence in many Chicago based communities and suburbs, because of the drastic and ill-timed restructure of member united ways.
