Pros

Great work-life balance is the best part of the job. Working at UWMC also allows you to meet a lot of great people and participate in various community/volunteer/networking activities with people from all over chicago

Cons

Direction from leadership very unclear, turnover is atrocious. little/no training. No talent development, very little opportunity for advancement. 9 CEO's in the last 27 years.

A view of the non-profit world

Pros

Nice hours, decent work/life balance.

Cons

When you see where your donations go it is very disheartening. So much money is used to pay for rich board members (taking them to nice restaurants, conferences, etc.). I also saw a huge disrespect for the poor, the people they supposedly want to help. The whole experience made me not want to donate to any non-profits ever again.
