Pros

You learn a lot about what nonprofits needs are.

Cons

The work culture is horrible with a top down leadership style that is stifling.

Pros

Worth it for those starting out- good program management experience and exposure to many community orgs in the field.

Cons

Pay is pretty low - be prepared to move on with what you learn. Tends to have too much internal politics/gossip. Senior staff can be vindictive and HR protects them.
