      UHG is a great place to work for your future in the industry even if it's not long term.

      Pros

      UHG is an industry leader with lots of resources. It is full of top notch talent and incredibly intelligent people. It's a great experience and a good resume builder for a career in the health care industry.

      Cons

      UHG is very large, so it's easy to get lost and sometimes hard to get recognition for your work. There is a high turnover of employees even at the highest levels of senior management. As a result many employees do not think or plan on being there for a long time.

      Pros

      Recognisable name in the industry. Looks good on resume.

      Cons

      The healthcare plan that they offer amounts to nothing more than a medical disount program where you would pay most of the expenses throughout the year. However UHC offers normal health insurance plans to other companies becasue they have to compete on th open market with DECENT Helathinsurance copnaies like Bule Cross Blue Shield or Tufts Helth Plan.

      Pros

      The people that I work with at Ingenix are absolutely wonderful. For the first time in my 15 year career, I feel that I actually have a manager that is looking out for me as well as himself. If only the rest of the company were like that.

      Cons

      As software developer, you need to be careful which group you choose to work with. Since Ingenix was purchased by UHG, they have completely ruined the concept of individual thought and doing things quickly.
