      A great opportunity to learn if you can adjust to the culture of constant change

      Pros

      Large employer with many smart people working there. A great place to learn and grow if you know how to network and connect with others who have information that is of value to you. If you can handle the culture of constant change that feels sometimes like it's just for the sake of change, you can learn a lot!

      Cons

      LOTS of change - constant - organization, procedures, growth agendas. Really good ideas aren't given enough time to take root before someone comes in and changes things and stops good progress. Many companies are like this, but I've been with many of them and have never seen as much change as this.

      Pros

      The work is very challenging and can be rewarding. There are many really gifted, talented people who work there. My manager was a very wonderful, intelligent woman who was quite inspirational. There are always opportunities to grow at UnitedHealth; I enjoyed the fact that my company was developing products that helped people (Medicare/Medicaid products), and that I was contributing to that process.

      Cons

      UnitedHealth is not a fun environment; although the company talked of innovation, they don't really understand it. It's a stressful place to work; there is not much smiling or laughter. No one takes breaks and everyone works through lunch. Althougth the company is concerned about work/life balance, no one knows how to achieve it.
