Pros

The non-contract first line staff tries very hard to make document review more enjoyable, because they know it's not really enjoyable at all. Oh, and they give you email access. Definitely first rate email access. And excellent communication from HR about, um, well, weather closures. Yep. Always knew when a weather closure or delay was happening.

Cons

Top down, in Richmond, management's attempts to connect with project attorneys is feckless on its good days. On those many days when management is not feckless, there just is no connection or communication at all. You're just another zombie in a chair. And that's how you will be treated.

Pros

The team has extremely high potential where nearly all work at a high level. Generally congenial work environment, with a few extreme caveats

Cons

Mushroom management. One particularly inept lead that causes not only chaos within projects but actually manages to break down the working relationships of people out around him. He's even went so far as to be outright sexually inappropriate on numerous occasions both to current employees and to applicants Absolutely no sense of clear direction, purpose or goals Bulk majority of workload being carried by a very few. Poor planning prior to beginning projects No expectation of success due to unpredictability of basic software development and deployment actions and no processes that are actively adhered to The sense that many projects are bridges to nowhere Constant procrastination and excuses surrounding resolving problems to move forward. 'Well, we need to have time to do that' - you don't get time you make time. Vague promises that 'good things are going to happen soon' but even after hush-hush meetings with management, HR, etc nothing appears to be actually happening - other than more dissension and greater animosity building among team members that would otherwise work fabulously together. Leads seem to spend more time squabbling than doing their jobs leaving a vacuum of responsibility that has to be filled - which in turn ends up in additional 'pseudo' leads being drawn into the squabbling.

Pros

Paid regularly. Checks didn't bounce.

Cons

Management lies...promises projects, then doesn't deliver. Very unprofessional atmosphere in Miami.
