Pros

Everyday free healthy lunch Clean bathrooms

Cons

Nonstop stress and push from (S)VPs to move products faster. No matter how much you work, there is zero career growth opportunity and no Bonus for anybody. Low TC. (Ok base with almost zero-value options and zero bonus) %2-3 salary increase every two years. Managers are first time managers with engineering background. Smart people but they are bad managers. There are no leaders among management.

Pros

Catered lunch, 100 bucks wellness benefits, 15 days PTO, 9 sick days, 5 float days.

Cons

Long hours and insane expectations. Office is mostly empty after 5P but Slack is active 24/7. Comparable to working at an investment bank. I wish I could give 0 star for work/life balance.

Unity Response

It’s hard for me to reply to this review and the other reviews you wrote. I can see you are angry and seem to be in pain, which troubles me. From time to time we have employees who find themselves on a team or project that they aren’t happy about. They go to their manager or if their manager is the problem they go to the next level leader, another leader, HR or even our CEO. Unity is a very approachable culture. I’m not sure why you don’t feel you can do that but encourage you to try it. I promise you if you reach out to me or even John, you will be listened to and get an immediate response. The conversation will be confidential. Unity is filled with examples of employees sharing what’s not working as well as what is. They are engaged in making it better. If you join one of our internal Slack channels and in the round tables you would see the tremendous passion from the employees both for our customers but also for our company. Massive passion and pride. It would be great if you can reach out so we can address your situation. Elizabeth Brown--Unity Head of HR

Pros

There are many crazy smart people working here. Doesn’t really matter where you go, you’ll run into someone that you can learn from. Unity offers the standard SV perks and bennies. Still needs to step up their total comp game tho.

Cons

Imagine a prodigy with a knack for solving complex problems but raised by highly dysfunctional and unstable parents. That’s what Unity is right now. If you still haven’t made the connection, the prodigy is the employees and the dysfunctional parents is the management. So, if you want to experience what it’s like to be raised by unstable people, join Unity! It will be anxiety-inducingly fun :):)
