Pros
I want to do interesting work with people that I like, and I definitely get that at Unlock. This place is overflowing with creative, curious people and that sparks my own creativity and curiosity. Most days it doesn't even feel like work, and after my last job, it's incredibly refreshing. I last worked for a global behemoth of a company, and talk about being a cog in the machine. You could never talk to a real person about any issue and every edict was "sign off or you're out." Actually, some of the hiccups I see in my daily Unlock life would probably be resolved with a more draconian approach, but that's not how it works here. I didn't even know how much stress I thought of as normal until I moved to Unlock and found something completely different. I would recommend Unlock to anyone without reservation.
Cons
I lived through four acquisitions that ultimately ended up as part of the aforementioned global behemoth. Acquisitions are hard. Giving up the culture you knew and loved is hard. Every acquisition period has hiccups as they figure out what works and what doesn't. From what I can tell, I came in a couple of years in, so while a lot of the big shocks are finished, there are still some lingering things that are smoothing out. Looking at the negative reviews on here, I have to think they're connected with that. It takes time to fully integrate and find the new blended culture and operating systems, but I feel like the company is getting more and more of those things polished off.
