Pros

Benefits package. Room for advancement.

Cons

I hate to be the bear of bad news, but if I can save someone from working this position then I will. To begin, don't take any job in a call center.. ever. To say the least, working here was a complete nightmare. Our training class started with 8 and after just 3 short months only one was left standing. The first person who quit said she quit because this job made her sick because of her anxiety. When I heard this, for the first time in my life, I actually understood exactly how she felt ( and I have never felt this way). Ironically, the job pertained to talking to customers who were on short and long term disability. Well, in doing this you must mentally prepare yourself to talk to people who are mentally ill. This job made my life so miserable that there is no amount of money that could ever motivate me to go back. You get no support from the management and you literally have to change your status to go use the restroom, and if you spend more than 30 minutes of your 8 hour day using the restroom or just simply taking a breather from constantly being on the phone, then don't you worry because they WILL bring this to your attention. A co-worker who I grew really close to also had to be put on a medication for how much anxiety this job brought her. I don't think I can count on my fingers and toes just how many break downs this job gave me. So yes, the benefits are the pros for this job but with this type of work you are going to need it for your medication. I can't even blame the management for this. My advice, there are so many other businesses that you will be happier at. If you have a positive, bubbly personality this is going to kill you. My mistake was not quitting this job, my mistake was ever accepting it.

Pros

Decent pay-Lateral opportunities abound but may not come with an increase in pay. Good exposure to corporate work environment. Great life learning.

Cons

ReOrgs: might be working for a different manager depending on the direction of the wind. Happened to me on a couple of occasions. I methodically researched job choices within the organization and made well thought out decision with regards to managers and two weeks later I was working for someone I would have never chosen to work for. Basically your career is out of your hands. There are hundreds of managers and of course there will be some duds but some of the duds are sociopaths. And history has brought to light some unscrupulous business practices. Keep your head on a swivel.

Pros

Flexible, convenient, Good peer level group. Has some interesting strategies for growth and adapting to marketplace changes. Compensation is fairly good.

Cons

Poor leadership, lack of trust which inhibits innovation. There are not a lot of opportunity for people that work collaboratively and respect opinions of non leadership.
