Pros
Unum is a friendly place, and many employees have been here for 15, 25, 30, and even 40+ years! The pay is very fair, and there's also an annual performance-based incentive. Great benefits, too.
Cons
The performance rating system is not a good one. Under the current model, managers must select someone from their team to get a "partially meets" rating, even if ALL of their team members are performing well. To be forced to arbitrarily give an employee a poor review is difficult at best, and downright unethical.
