      Pay is good.. but it will cost you

      Pros

      Pay is good for the area. Great benefits, including PTO.

      Cons

      no job security - doesn't matter how long or how hard you work. Unum does annual house-cleaning which has everyone more worried about keeping there job rather than doing a good job. This culture does not build a culture of trust in the employees. Mgmt values your ability to follow orders more than your individual contribution. Promotions are based on the biggest 'yes man'.

      Pros

      1. They are an industry leader in their business 2. Very good working culture - people are very good to each other 3. Operational improvements have been very significant over the last several years. Along with strong financial position, they are well positioned when the economy improves. 4. Benefits are very good, while salaries are market average. 5. Long tenures and they like to promote from within.

      Cons

      Good work will be recognized, but it's an insurance company, so it's not flashy.
