Upper Iowa University reviews

Toxic culture, Bad leadership, High turnover, Low morale. Too many cooks in the kitchen re: Marketing the university. Inconsistent branding. Either fire the marketing staff and go with a schoolwide vendor or get out of the way and let them do their job. As of this writing, there has been no director of that dept for 8 mos! Tired of seeing every piece from our department look different depending on who worked on it. Enrollment is down and tantrums are being thrown. Multiple years with continuing deficits. Backing up the money truck for vendors with no ROI attached. Serious issues of conduct "handled internally" or swept under the rug. Many friends and colleagues have left for greener pastures & I'm about to join them. Job seekers: a generous $45k position at a failing institution can be yours!

Upper management on the enrollment side of the house is the major problem at UIU. They see no issues with massive employee turnover year over year and always cite low pay for this. However, that is only a very small reason; most leave due to a incompetent supervisors and a lack of accountability once errors are found.
