Pros

They have great benefits and are an open culture. Free lunch, snacks, company outings and some very smart people

Cons

I think the COO has a certain type of image she wants for certain jobs and if you don't fit the mold you find yourself out.

Unbelievably positive, and incredibly innovative.

Pros

- Upper level management make it easy to want to succeed. They will notice if you work hard, and if you do so with a positive attitude. - Hard work does not go unnoticed. - Catered lunch everyday. - Friendly Environment and culture. - Advancement opportunities (I’ve been with the company for 3 months, and in 1 week, I will be starting my new role). - The founders, VPs and all Management create readily available, individualized time (I’ve spoken at length with all three founders, the head of our office in Columbus, and direct supervisors and felt like I was genuinely, actively listened to). - Weekly interdepartmental meetings as well as a weekly company meeting where transparency is at the utmost focus, as well as solutions or ideas to keep us on the correct path to keep growing the way we are. - No matter who you are, you are able to make a difference in the company.

Cons

As the company is growing at exponential pace, change is inevitable, which creates a little bit less structure than most are used to.

Pros

Working alongside talented people who are smart but humble. I feel empowered to do my job with an support for being innovative and finding new solutions. Our mission of expanding fair credit access is inspiring. Also love the flexible schedules so I can choose the core hours where I'm most productive. Workplace extras like free catered lunches daily and snacks are also great.

Cons

Not a con for me personally- but someone considering Upstart should be comfortable with change. Because we are scaling rapidly, responsibilities may not be the same 6-12 months from now. It's exciting, but the pace may not be right for everyone.
