Pros

Great culture. Everyone really does seem to care for each other. For customer service agents its well worth the money. Benefits are fantastic Good sick time policy

Cons

You have to be adaptable and willing to change your position at any time. Upstart has a way of shifting need in every aspect of operations even if the need is necessarily there. I also feel like when applying for internal roles that the response from interviews takes way too long. It took over two weeks to hear "you didn't get the job." Obviously I assume I didn't with the lack of communication but you still wonder if you are still in the running. The pay isnt as competitive as they make it seem. For customer service agents its well worth the money but for other roles, they are underpaid, such as learning and development.

Pros

Lots of flexibility and ability to show what you can do. The office is really nice if you go in and some of leadership really seems passionate about helping the team.

Cons

Poor communication on all fronts, there is a possibility you will not be able to keep the position you were hired for and if this happens management will not give you feedback as to why. Any new rollout or announcement is, if not pushed back, then not disseminated until the last possible moment. Little chance for advancement depending on your department. Stock awards aren't worth much when the price is so low and salary/bonus are not adjusted to compensate. You will be making less than you expected at hire.
