Pros

You can learn a lot from the seniors.

Cons

The management needs to control employee attrition. Many good and talented employees are leaving this place. It is the key reason most people who work here don't even stick for long. All of them get worried about their future.

Pros

Uptake is a genuinely enjoyable place to work. The folks you work with on a day-to-day basis are great people and the problems that Uptake is solving are extremely motivating and fun to work on. The data science team at Uptake is easily the best team of individuals I've ever gotten to work with. There is a lot of passion for the problems we're trying to solve and every person on the team brings something to the table. The opportunities to learn new things and tackle important, challenging problems are a huge draw. The engineering team members whom I've gotten to work with are also great; generally speaking, the technology teams drive the core enjoyment of being here.

Cons

Uptake went through significant troubles in 2019 and 2020. Many of the prior reviews you can find on Glassdoor were 100% contemporaneously accurate. Most of those troubles can be quite plainly attributed to poor leadership and trouble selling things. While far from perfect today, Uptake has made great progress on overcoming those failures (frankly, to some surprise). A series of leadership changes in the fall of 2020 have substantially improved the overall culture and perception of leadership, and recent non-trivial business successes have breathed new life into the company. Hiring is continuously happening across many teams at the company.
