GS pay is much better for researchers than the average in Boston; Great benefits; Very friendly and social atmosphere

Cons

There are too many obstacles and red tape to efficiently run a research lab within the VA; Even when you don't interact with patients regularly, there's definitely a sexist overtone in the halls and public spaces
