There is ongoing pressure to rapidly close tickets, meet strict performance metrics, and operate under close oversight. Frequent process changes—often tied to the risk of corrective action—are creating a high-stress environment and contributing to burnout. In addition, promotions often feel like a dangling carrot rather than a realistic opportunity, and the lack of raises adds to the overall discouragement and frustration.

Public Sector IT work, never again. Bonuses/Incentives gutted based on company earnings out of your control, hadn't receive a bonus in almost a year before my departure. Not worth the money they pay to handle the garbage sent from upper-management to your level. Tool overload, on-call schedule with barely any additional compensation. They can, have, and will continue lay-offs if client revenue isnt met. Most if not every good worker I've had the pleasure of interacting with has already departed or looking out the door.
