      Pros

      VCA's specialty hospitals--at least the ones I've experienced--practice excellent medicine, and the corporation tends to spend much more money with the upkeep at the specialty hospitals vs. the day practices.

      Cons

      While management inside each hospital may place value in each individual employee, the Company itself sees each employee as little more than a number. The corporation cares about increasing revenues far, far more than it cares about the dedication or hard work of its employees. This is evidenced by "caps" on employee wages, especially employees who have worked for the company for 20+ years. Once you reach a certain level of income, it is nearly impossible to obtain any increase in pay.

      Cons

      After dedicating 8+ years to this company, I dropped down my hours because I am pursuing a masters degree. Though I worked full time hours the majority of the year, because I dropped down my new average is 3 hours any of the average at which they are required to offer medical insurance. They make me sick because they care more about penny pinching than their employees. What a waste of my time.
