Pros

willing to train, can get overtime, working with animals, education/training is good, employee discount is great, some doctors are great to work with,

Cons

hospital manager and director don't care about their employees, no respect, like to treat employees and talk to them like they're stupid, supervisor allowed to walk all over employees, way too much negative feedback and knit-picking, prices are too high, waste some employees talents supervisors lack supervisory skills, they create anomosity amongst coworkers, promote employees tattling on each other instead of supervisors doing their jobs right, director has no guts

Pros

Benefits are better than private practice can offer. Potential for good pay. Ability to transfer if move across the country.

Cons

Led by non-veterinary management, whose focus is HR and business. Middle management not allowed to do their jobs- they are puppets. No accountability. No focus on quality of care or medicine. If you take concerns to them, they retaliate. They target certain people they do not like and get them out, even if they are their strongest players. Weakest players who act like they are on cloud 9 all the time will always stay ,even if they practice terrible medicine or do not do their jobs well. Job descriptions for middle management are inaccurate. In fact, you may be disciplined for doing your job. It is all about playing a game if you wish to stay there. Everyone must be happy, even if you have co-workers practicine malpractice. You will be chastised if you like different products than the preferred vendors.
