Pros

Some of the pros of working at this company definitely include the benefits of health care for your own pets, and the opportunities CAN be great if they present themselves.

Cons

I feel like the low pay is one thing, especially working in a state like CA. Techs don’t make much, which means VAs make less. Definitely should be paying more, and then the hospital morale definitely is not there. Management likes to say we can talk to them about our concerns, but we just a VERY confrontational hospital meeting with our HM and it was not comfortable for anyone . Also the work life balance SUCKS. I am constantly drained after my shifts because of the drama and I then don’t have ANY energy for home or school because of how much crap I deal with at work.

I spent six months working for a VCA location in St. Petersburg, FL. After disclosure of multiple disabilities, I never received accomodations and in fact was penalized and bullied by my manager and immediate supervisor to which it began to impact my mental health. My manager was very inappropriate in her approach and quite condescending. There was never any praise and constant reminders of mistakes. I received a three page write up which was a series of nit picks and other things that was never discussed with me. Stay away.
