Pros

Benefits are quite nice, flexible scheduling, great coworkers, and stories for a lifetime.

Cons

Expensive parking, frequent unpleasant clientele interactions, and decisions made by upper management who rarely ever step foot in the ED. Extremely difficult to advance position.

Its an academic teaching center, and i was often working with "the Best of the Best"!

Cons

I worked much overtime, and on salary, but was able to work out Comp Time off with my Supervisor some of the time.

- Flexible hours - Tight-knit and friendly community - No shortage of scientific advice and discussion - Seminars, thesis defenses, tech talks, luncheons almost every day

Cons

- perhaps a little too much flexibility for some - parking can be an issue -- the lots are somewhat small and are located near traffic chokes - as with any research division, there are inevitable quibbles over IP, authorship, grants etc. - benefits and pay could be better
