      So much change

      Pros

      The continuing education benefits, the people I work alongside on the floor, and high quality medicine

      Cons

      People who don’t work at VEG often compare it to a cult, and they are 100% correct. If you are not 100% positive, they will find a way to drive you out. I am so sad that it has come to this. The company has changed a lot since I started. We lost our really kind and awesome manager about a month ago, and as soon as she left, everything kind of fell apart. The new interim manager is barely present and when she is, she’s locked in a conference room on calls. Our old manager used to be on the floor with us and would help us when we needed it. This new manager doesn’t even know my name. One of my teammates was sobbing to me recently because they couldn’t afford life saving care for their pet and the manager shrugged it off and suggested Care Credit. Some of us have tried talking to our market owner, but she doesn’t seem to care. Bessler seems so unreachable these days. I feel like both the David’s were always around, and now we can’t even get an email answered. We are so understaffed we’re using VAs as nurses and turning away cases left and right…it just isn’t what I signed up for. I wanted to learn and grow…but now I’m too busy drowning to ever really learn. There’s no more work/life balance. Everything is all VEG all the time. I feel like our medical director is one step from a mental breakdown and that this new manager is going to drive some of us off of the cliff…

      BEWARE!

      Pros

      -Open treatment floor concept -Give employees money to donate to charities -Competitive pay -Will help you get RVT/ VTS (Benefits are decent - scrub allowance, etc)

      Cons

      -NO shift-differentials for overnight workers -NO work-life balance (Often times workers are overworked and working well over 13 hour shifts) (Group chats that constantly notify you) -Woke culture -Very poor upper management (A lot of managers have zero previous veterinary experience)

      You can sleep and be lazy on the job and won't get fired.

      Cons

      Half their staff doesn't know how to act during a STAT. Unfortunately wouldn't trust my own coworkers to save my cat if he was in a crisis.

We heard your feedback and we are continuously adding nurse managers and trainers to our hospital teams to provide even more support to our VEGgies on the floor. VEG also provides RECOVER CPR certification to all VEGgies so they can always be prepared for stat cases. At VEG our main goal is to have our frontline superheroes feeling confident in helping people and their pets when they need it most!
