Worst manager I've ever met

Pros

Reception staff, doctors, nurse trainer and other nurses are great people. Free snacks.

Cons

Hospital manager who has no idea what it takes to run a hospital and has not stepped foot in a hospital prior to this job. He does not communicate with shift leads and expects you to stay on the floor while he gets to smoke outside all day. Tries to make changes to the hospital that do NOT need to be made and doesn't listen to your input. You are not valued, respected or heard. Forget about sitting down for 5 minutes to catch your breath. It won't happen without you being reprimanded. He will say one thing and then do the complete opposite. All employees fear they are the next to be fired for no reason. Pay is not good enough to go through the stress. Be ready to also work a LOT off the clock and have about 10 new apps on your phone.

Pros

Benefits are great. Some people in management actually care

Cons

Toxic positivity, poor quality of medicine. Some doctors are fresh out of school with little surgical experience. Some lazy staff

Supporting our VEGgies is important to us, so we’re happy our benefits and the quality of our leaders are making your experience here even better. We love when our VEGgies take advantage of our opportunities to develop themselves (like unlimited ER CE and VEG created L&D programs!). We also deeply value our culture, so we're sorry to hear that your experience isn’t in line with the environment we aim to create here. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. ER Doctor Review

Pros

Unlimited CE was nice, I felt like VEG does care about your education and wanting you to become a better doctor.

Cons

As an ER doctor on the floor, it felt like I was the doctor, receptionist, nurse and assistant. They are highly focused on the client experience and there "spikes" and not enough on the health and well being of there staff. We were a 24hr hospital, but constantly understaffed and many of the employees were burnt out from taking extra shifts to keep the hospital open. Mainly the reason I had to leave was because there was no separation from work life and home life. Shifts were longer than 12hrs, multiple meetings a month, constant emails, personal texts or workplace chats. If I muted one group chat, suddenly another would appear. As a full time doctor, there was no time for me outside of work.

Supporting our VEGgies is important to us, so we’re happy our focus on mentorship and education made your experience here even better. We’re sorry to hear this and appreciate your feedback. Balance is crucial for making ER a sustainable career, so this is not the experience we want for our VEGgies. We’re sorry we couldn’t get ahead of this before you left.
