      Great work, terrible work culture

      Pros

      The company really serves underserved communities. It was rewarding to be able to work with a hospice company that accepted patients from all walks of life in terms of age, socioeconomic background, ethnicity, preferred language, etc. I love hospice and felt very happy and proud of the meaningful work I completed with the company. The nurses and social workers on the team were incredibly passionate. I felt honored to work beside them. Excellent benefits!

      Cons

      There is no work life balance. The company as a whole has been sued in the past for missed lunches and unpaid overtime; this location is no different. Unpaid overtime is normalized by all staff. Expect e-mails well after work hours from staff who should be off the clock. Micro-management is intense. Expectations for productivity are unrealistic and impossible to meet; literally no staff member meets expectations and only near doing so when completing unpaid overtime. Your payroll (for both hourly and salary) consists of you logging in all of your activities throughout the day to account for every minute of your "8 hour" work day. Being a large corporation, also, the company values saving money over helping patients. The company values admissions and gets patients enrolled within a couple hours, but once they are on service, the patients are hardly supported. This location was understaffed with high turnover (8 social workers hired and quit within the last 2 years). Also, supplies to patients including gloves, diapers, etc. were very limited and cheap.
