      Pros

      An abundance amount of time off, however you have to pull nails and teeth just to use your time. Comardarie among staff, but they trying to stop that too.

      Cons

      The PAY is extremely low for the industry and work performed. You're going need 2 or 3 jobs to pay your bills. The associates in the Lombard call center are under payed, over worked, and haven't had raises in over 3 years. But yet the company is constantly bringing in revenue. Oh, there being investigated by the DOJ for Medicare fraud!!

      Pros

      Loads of PTO and, if you are on the right team, lots of mutual support. If you are passionate about hospice, it a most rewarding career.

      Cons

      Current staffing levels, favoritism and inequitable PTO scheduling make it difficult to use PTO. VITAS values as originally conceived are lofty; sadly the unspoken value, which takes precedence over the spoken 4 is this: Shareholder interests and upper management egos come first, not patients and families. Don't apply here if you are looking for work/family balance. Your personal time does not matter to this company. You must take into consideration that your hourly wage does not accurately reflect compensation if you are salaried and working 50 (or more) hours each week.

      Vitas has management that is verymuch out of touch. There is a "Click"! CEO making poor choices.VPs clueless.

      Pros

      Allow time off. Flexibility in shedule most of the time. Some people here are wonderful.

      Cons

      NO chance for growth. NO chance for promotion NO chance for recognition NO chance to make a differrence NO chance that upper management will listen to field staff NO chance of surviving if the current management structure remains, from VPs to CEO. NO chance that this company will survive another decade the way it is opperating
