      Pros

      Flexibility, autonomy, trust in the medical team that I worked with and mileage reimbursement. Always felt like that my voice was being heard with regards to patient care/safety and advocacy. Triage team was phenomenal and worked very closely with the runners. Room for advancement was available.

      Cons

      High turn over rate with upper management which lead to fear of the unknown. Never quite able to get a handle of communication between the on call staff and regular staff. Some redundancy but was perfectly manageable. Regular politics regarding staff to staff interaction. No pay raises for over two years.

      Pros

      Vitas has incredible resources to access both locally and nationally. They are very generous in letting a dynamic employee run with an idea and providing him or her with resources and support. The salary is generous and there are plenty of outstanding people here to learn from and have as friends. You really feel proud and satisfied to be offering outstanding service in the community and representing a caring and professional company.

      Cons

      Like any large, corporate hospice it has lots of reporting requirements and the typical paperwork and verification requirements that Vitas and Medicare require. Some may find the sales driven, numbers oriented emphasis with Vitas not right for them. These sales do provide the backbone for the incredible tools and services Vitas offers its patients and staff. Like any big company, people can sink to petty gossip and turf battles.
